JOAź Site Survey & Analysis

During the site survey, JOAź will carefully observe your process to determine the source and nature of the dust and vapor emissions. If we find that your system can be improved by better maintenance, process changes or material handling improvements, we will advise you upfront.
The following are general tasks which we will perform during our site survey:

  • Review of all regulations and plant requirements for fugitive emissions (ATEX, NFPA or other)
  • Understanding of plant layout and space constraints
  • Investigate emission sources with qualitative root cause analysis
  • Gather data on physical nature of particulate (size, load, wet, dry, sticky)
  • Observe operator ergonomics and working procedures applied in the area
  • Quantify dust emission levels (average and peak) during normal operation
  • Quantify minimum required control air volume for each emission source
  • Define hood requirements for each emission source
  • Evaluate existing equipment (if system to be retrofitted)
  • Develop optimum routing of ductwork and access to equipment
  • Determine new equipment location (as necessary) for safety, utilities, and serviceability
  • Gather particulate samples for laboratory testing (conveyance velocity, fire and explosion hazard)
