JOA® Conceptual Design

The following tasks are performed during the conceptual design phase:

  • Determination for optimal conveyance velocity based upon your particle behavioral characteristics, VoCrit™
  • Calculation for duct sizes to insure optimal conveyance velocity for non-fouling system design, GCM™
  • Precision balancing for system static pressure without de-stabilizing effect of gate valves, Restriction™
  • Advanced scenario modeling enabling accurate simulation for complex operations, alternate designs and strategic retrofits, GCM™
  • Opportunity for optimized emissions control and in-process product recovery (waste reduction) at powder handling feeders, hoppers and mixers, Deflector™
  • Preliminary system design using isometric drawings and P&ID’s (as necessary)
  • General equipment selection (fan, filter, ducting etc.)
  • General specifications for fire and explosion safety equipment
  • Preliminary budget and installation timeline
  • Determination of customer goals and performance milestones by which project success will be measured in areas such as EH&S, Productivity and Maintenance
  • Report and presentation to customer staff

Together with the customer, JOA® will perform a thorough review of the conceptual design, project goals, performance milestones and installation budget. After this review and the potential changes that may occur, we will come to final agreement for project moving forward. \
